My intention with this blog is to share useful ideas and insights about markets, financial planning and other sometimes random thoughts about investing.   One thing the web does not need is another blogger predicting what is unpredictable.   Investing and financial planning is all about probabilities, not predictions.   Using probabilities correctly is often misunderstood and leads people to making incorrect decisions based upon hunches or hopes.   Understand the odds and go with them.   They won't work every time but that is how odds work.   Probabilities are just that probable outcomes not guaranteed outcomes.  There are no sure things in markets or in life.   My father used to always ask, "Is everything under control?"  We wish they were but they are not.
